Actually no, I've been here a couple of days already. I guess I must have looked like a right idiot walking around with sharpie all over my face!

[ She shakes her head in mock pity. She'd been worried for a second Aranea wouldn't know what sharpies were. ]

We do like to have fun here. That's probably why nobody told you.

Oh, you mean half the town was mocking me? It's a shame I'm not allowed to retaliate in the way I best know how...

You'll just have to be more creative. Maybe start writing on people's foreheads any time they pass out after sex.

[ Steph laughs and downs the last of her wine. ]

[ The theaters they picked for this month's celebration seem to have pretty well-stocked bars, so bourbon shouldn't be a problem. And she returns with exactly that, having assumed that like Steph Aranea isn't that big a champagne fan.

She offers the glass to her new friend. ]

So, did you get here early enough to sign up for the blind date thing?

Yeah, I did. Unsure about that one, but you know? I thought I've got nothing to lose.

[She pauses, shrugs.]

I've been talking to a few people, getting to know some, and... I don't know, is it strange to be flirting with so many people at once? Knowing it could actually lead to something?

I don't think so. Everybody's just having a good time, you know?

I just wouldn't want anyone to think I don't have standards.

[ Steph snickers. ]

But what's the point of that? A whole lot of flirting and effort, and no reward? C'mon now, that's just not how I work. The whole point is the reward.
