[Aerith contemplated the small mess in front of her. It'd been a while since she got the time to do this, and now it feels like she's forgotten entirely how to even do this, how to bake.
Flour, sugar, eggs, butter, she had the essentials, really, she could make it work. She would make it work. She'd do something nice for Zack, for once. Not only did he deserve it - not that she was going to tell him so - but it would also really, really do Aerith some good to just stop for a moment, enjoy doing something she hasn't had the opportunity to do in so long.
Just a cake. A simple thing, really, with chocolate frosting, maybe some chocolate chips. She'd thought of doing cookies first, but the idea of watching Zack cut into a cake appealed to her more, for some reason.
